SDG Office

Our FERI sustainability philosophy

At FERI, sustainability is not only a principle – it is the very definition of responsible, future-proof investing. We support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

Within our investment strategies that promote environmental and/or social characteristics or pursue sustainable investment objectives, we specifically consider companies that address environmental and social aspects in their business activities based on defined criteria. These sustainability criteria are integrated into the investment process alongside the respective fund's financial investment objectives.

The goal is to develop customized investment strategies that take into account financial requirements as well as defined environmental and social criteria. In this process, the FERI SDG Office supports the integration of the specified sustainability criteria into the investment strategies.

Sustainability at FERI – An Integrated Investment Approach

Our approach combines the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria, creating a constructive and integrated sustainability framework. Sustainability factors are integrated into our investment decisions.
The objective is to develop investment strategies that combine financial requirements with the consideration of defined environmental and social criteria. Precise ESG and SDG analyses, together with transparent sustainability reporting, support the sustainable alignment of our investment funds and provide a transparent basis for investment decisions.

We use our own specially developed databases and analytical systems. Proprietary systems such as the FERI Sustainability Engine (SUSEN) enable the systematic analysis of selected sustainability characteristics of investments and their assessment in accordance with the respective methodology.

We always know exactly where our data has come from and how it was calculated. That allows us to make a fully informed assessment of selected environmental and social characteristics of investments and provides a transparent basis for analysis, selection and investment decisions.

FERI Sustainability Policy: Clear Guidelines for Sustainable Investments

The FERI sustainability policy contains our principles and guidelines for responsible, future-proof investing. It provides a dependable framework for integrating these sustainability factors into our investment processes and consulting.

Our key guiding principles

Actively addressing sustainability risks

We systematically incorporate environmental, social and governance factors, including physical and transition climate risks, into our sustainable investment decisions and our advice for clients with sustainability preferences.

Transparently meeting regulatory requirements

We provide full transparency, disclosing all relevant sustainability information in a clear and compliant format. This allows an objective assessment of our sustainability strategy and practices.

Aligning remuneration policy with sustainability risks

We ensure that our remuneration structure does not encourage excessive sustainability risks and that it aligns with our Group-wide sustainability strategy.

Focusing on the SDGs

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are our compass for integrating sustainability into our investment and advice.

Sustainability – Taken Further

Analyzing Sustainability with Vision

The FERI Cognitive Finance Institute is the FERI Group’s independent think tank and specializes in analyzing long-term economic and social developments – including in the area of sustainability.

With its proprietary “cognitive finance” methodology, the institute provides deep insights into sustainability-related topics. This helps us understand where global megatrends are heading and creates a valuable basis for future-oriented investment strategies.

Responsibility with Impact

With our Engagement, we take responsibility beyond our core business and support selected environmental and social initiatives.

Our focus is on five key UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): quality education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5), clean energy (SDG 7), decent work (SDG 8) and climate action (SDG 13).

With our targeted commitment, we embrace social responsibility and support selected environmental and social projects and initiatives.
