2. Data processing (data, purposes, legal basis, recipients)
2.1. Cookies necessary for using the website
The website uses various cookies to enable the website's functions to be used. Details and individual cookies are described in the cookie control tool/under point 4.0 “Detailed information on cookies” of the privacy policy in the “Necessary” section.
2.2 Analysis of the type and extent of website usage by Google Analytics and Matomo using cookies
With your consent, information about the time, duration, and scope of the pages used, as well as information about the accessing device, such as operating system, region, and browser type, is collected using the Google Analytics analysis software operated by Google and the Matomo software solution. The data is processed pseudonymously in order to generate anonymous information about how the pages are used, to continuously improve the website, and to better tailor the content to users. For this purpose, the information generated by the use of the website (including your truncated IP address) is transferred to the servers of Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) in the case of Google Analytics and to the servers of xpecto (xpecto talonec GmbH, Konrad-Zuse-Bogen 18, 82152 Krailling) in the case of Matomo. The basis for this is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. 2.3. Contact form
The data fields specified in the contact form (name, contact details, content) and information on the time of use are collected and processed for the purpose of processing and responding to your enquiry. The data is transmitted to the FERI company named and identified in the respective contact form. This processing is necessary for establishing contact. The basis for this is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). The data is usually deleted up to one year after the matter has been resolved. Contract-related information transmitted in this way is stored in the customer file and deleted after the end of the customer relationship.
2.4. Event registration
To register for an event, your last name, first name, email address, company, participation status, additional comments, and registration time are recorded and used to organize the event and contact you in all matters relating to the respective event. This information is transmitted to the FERI society listed on the registration page as the event organizer. Data processing is necessary for participation. The basis for this is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).
2.5. Newsletter
The contact details entered on the registration page, as well as information on the topic and time of dispatch, are processed for the purpose of sending the newsletter and adding you to the mailing list. The data will remain stored until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data processing is necessary for receiving the newsletter and is based on the consent given on the registration page. (Basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in each newsletter. The newsletter is sent on behalf of and under the instructions of FERI by a service provider (Newsletter2go).
2.6. Integration of social media services and YouTube videos
With your consent, the social network services of LinkedIn, XING, and Twitter, as well as videos from YouTube, may be used. By clicking on the respective button or video, your IP address and the time of page use will be transmitted to the respective provider (provider: LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; XING AG, Dammtorstraße 29-32, 20354 Hamburg, Germany; Twitter Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA; Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland); This allows you to use the services of the respective provider, such as sharing the page on the network or rating it (“Like”). The provider may be able to identify you (e.g., because you are logged in there at the same time) and thus associate your visit to the website with your person and store it. By clicking on the respective button, you consent to the transfer of your data to the respective provider. Consent applies to each individual case.
2.6.1. Twitterfeed
With your consent, which you give by allowing the cookie session, your IP address, the date and time of access, the URL of the accessed page, and device identifiers are transmitted to Twitter so that the Twitter news feed can be displayed and accessed. Processing is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. 2.7. Portal use (myFERI, Economics, FERI AIF Portal, FERI Portal, My FERI ART (login))
(1) Registration as a user is required to use the respective portal; for this purpose, your master data and communication data as well as a password assigned by you for protected access to your user account will be processed. This data is required for authentication and authorization assignment, as well as to prevent unauthorized access, and is processed in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. The registration data will be deleted when you deactivate your user account.
(2) When you log in and use the portal, information about the time, duration, and scope of use, as well as login attempts, will be processed. The processing is carried out to ensure the security of the services and to process your orders and is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; FERI has a legitimate interest in ensuring a secure service and in verifying the correct processing of orders. The usage data can be stored for up to 1 year.

2.8. Whistleblower system
Our whistleblower system serves to open a confidential communication channel for whistleblowers and enable the reporting of compliance and legal violations.
The whistleblower system can generally be used without providing personal data. However, whistleblowers have the option of voluntarily providing personal data (e.g., personal master data, contact and address details, reporting data).
FERI uses software from EQS (EQS Group AG, Karlstr 47, 80333 Munich), a processor within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR, for the whistleblower portal. FERI's internal review of the reported incidents is carried out exclusively by a small group of individuals who are bound to confidentiality. For legal reasons, it may be necessary to forward the facts to external bodies (e.g., law firms, law enforcement agencies). No data will be transferred to bodies outside the EU or the EEA.
The documentation will be deleted three years after the conclusion of the proceedings. The documentation may be retained for longer in order to comply with the requirements of the Whistleblower Protection Act or other legal provisions, as long as this is necessary and proportionate.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data is Art. 6 (1) c) GDPR in conjunction with § 10 HinSchG.
3. Your rights
Information, deletion, correction, restriction
You have the right to obtain information about stored personal data and, if the legal requirements are met, the right to correction or deletion or to restriction of processing.
Objection to processing on grounds of legitimate interest
If your data is processed to safeguard overriding legitimate interests, you can object to this processing at any time if there are reasons that conflict with this data processing.
Withdrawal of consent
If your data is processed on the basis of consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time and terminate the processing.
