National Reading Day 2024

Under the motto FERI4Education, we at FERI are committed to educational projects and learning opportunities because we believe that education can be an important prerequisite for individual development and social participation. Education helps people develop knowledge and skills and explore new perspectives. Reading plays an important role in this context, as it can support children's language, cognitive and social development. The earlier children are introduced to books and stories, the more likely they are to develop a love of reading and strengthen their reading skills.

National Reading Day is a wonderful initiative that introduces children to the world of books in an enjoyable way. Every year, more than one million adults and children across Germany come together on this day to read aloud and encourage an interest in reading. It therefore feels natural for us to take part as well. This year, for the third time, we organised a joint reading event together with the Child Protection Association of the Hochtaunus district.

And once again, it was a wonderful experience! When children even “argue” about who gets to read aloud more themselves, it shows just how much enjoyment stories and books can bring and how great the interest in reading was on that day.
