Financial Literacy as Part of Equal Opportunity - Girls’ Day 2026 @FERI

At this year’s Girls’ Day @FERI, held under the motto “Female Portfolio Managers in Action”, one key topic again took center stage: education as a foundation for self-determined decision-making and for opening up new personal and professional perspectives. It empowers individuals to understand relationships and weigh up different options. The workshop was intended to provide participants with insights into economic interrelationships and potential career fields.

Financial matters play a role in many areas of life. This makes it all the more important to be able to understand and assess economic contexts at an early stage. Especially for girls and young women, this knowledge can help them develop long-term perspectives and consider financial independence as part of their future planning.

As part of the workshop, the participants explored fundamental financial topics. In a guided and educational setting, they learned about equities, investment funds, and the opportunities and risks associated with investments. Working in teams, they then developed their own model portfolios. In this way, they gained practical insights into decision-making processes and the day-to-day work of portfolio management.

The programme was complemented by a behind-the-scenes tour of our offices, as well as information on entry-level and career development opportunities at FERI, with the aim of reducing perceived barriers and making professional opportunities more tangible.

A special thank you goes to all colleagues whose commitment helped make this day possible.
