Financial Literacy as Part of Equal Opportunity - Girls’ Day 2026 @FERI
Again, at this year’s Girls’ Day @FERI "“Female Portfolio Managers in Action” we focused on a key topic: education as the foundation for making independent decisions and for opening up new personal and professional opportunities. It empowers individuals to understand how things are connected and to weigh their options — while also opening the door to new and better career opportunities.
Financial issues play a role in many areas of life. This makes it all the more important to be able to understand economic concepts at an early stage. For girls and young women in particular, this knowledge can help them develop long-term perspectives and consider financial independence.
During the workshop, the participants explored fundamental financial topics. In a guided, educational setting, they examined stocks, mutual funds, and the opportunities and risks associated with investments, and then worked in teams to develop their own model portfolios. This gave them practical insights into decision-making processes and how portfolio management works.
The program was complemented by a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility and information about entry-level and career advancement opportunities at FERI — with the aim of overcoming reservations and making career prospects more tangible.
Special thanks go to all our colleagues whose dedication made this day a success.
