Particularly in turbulent periods on the capital market, it can be a good idea to temporarily reduce risk exposure and allocate some assets to the money market. The money market provides investors with a safe haven: it allows them to invest part of their allocation largely risk-free, ready for redeployment to other asset classes once the market environment is more constructive.
