The digitisation process in the education sector continues to advance and thus presents schools with new challenges. The non-profit educational initiative "WERTvoll macht Schule" with its teaching programme for the promotion of values and financial skills wants to support primary schools in this area. With their new app "WERTvoll", the education initiative offers a tool that makes it easy for teachers to implement digital teaching. The investment house FERI supported the development of the digital offer with a donation of 3000 Euro.
Whether at work or at home - digital applications and media are now ubiquitous. The promotion of media skills is thus becoming increasingly important in order to avoid excessive demands and pitfalls from the outset when using and applying new media. Schools have a particularly important role to play here, and this is exactly where WERTvoll macht Schule comes into play: it provides primary school pupils with important competencies, including media literacy, through its programme.
With the help of the donation from FERI, the educational initiative was able to develop the app "WERTvoll", in which all materials of the program are digitally available. "'WERTvoll macht Schule' teaches children important values and financial skills at an early age and thus promotes their development into self-confident, responsible and strong personalities. This is an approach that we are happy to support, especially when it comes to the important topic of digitisation," says Marcel Renné, CEO of FERI AG.
With the new app, teachers can easily use digital content for their lessons and adapt it to the technical conditions in their school. In addition, digital teaching ideas provide opportunities to further expand children's use of media and to promote it individually. In addition, parents can download the magazine with useful tips and interesting articles on the topic of value and financial education free of charge.
Diana Bartl, founder and managing director of "WERTvoll macht Schule", emphasizes the importance of such a digital educational offer: "Schools have to react to changes in the children's living environment. This is also evident in the debate on the digitisation of the education sector". This concerns both the learning content and the design of the lessons. "The first changes can already be observed: The use of smartboards, tablets and mobile phones or researching on the internet is becoming more and more a matter of course," continues Diana Bartl. But not all schools are well prepared for this change. A lack of technical equipment and personnel often makes it difficult to implement digital teaching. "We have a social responsibility to act here", says Bartl. "Our teaching programme in general, but now also in its digital version, offers a support system for teachers. The teaching materials make it easier to design lessons, save time in preparation and are flexible in use".
